The 60-minute interactive workshop is an adventure across our country with lively folk heroes telling of their dreams and hopes as early Americans. Storytelling and book talks will be featured.

Leader Requirements:

  • Each Scout and adult should wear a nametag with name written in dark marker.
  • Please refer to your Scout manual for details of the remaining points needed to complete required work.

American Folklore, Folk Song and Historical Legends

  • An overview of folklore through story , superstition, music and the folklore match game. Scouts will gain an understanding of folklore to proceed with the next requirement.

Around the United States

  • Scouts will identify folk stories and the region where they happened.

Favorite Folklore

  • Relax and enjoy a tall tale or two.
