• Youth Events (thru May 2012)

Your Library plays a very important and active role in encouraging and developing an interest in lifelong literacy and learning.
The goal of Youth Services is to serve the child, infant-age 5; student, grades K-8; and adult by providing and maintaining a collection of materials, offering assistance in readers services, retrieving information, and presenting programs to stimulate reading.

Featured Events:
	Movie Night Grades 4–8 Friday, February 24 • 4:30–7:00 p.m. Watch a recent release on the big screen. Titles will be posted at the ASK ME Desk. Pizza, popcorn, and lemonade will be served. Pizza provided by Gino’s East. Registration info
	Stories! At Panera Bread Saturday, February 25 • 2:00 - 3:00 PM. Join storyteller A. Denise Farrugia at Panera Bread in St. Charles for stories, songs and surprises. Come by and stay for all the stories or just a few. Story sets at 2:00, 2:15, 2:30 and 2:45, by the fireplace.
	Especially for Boy Scouts Monday, February 27 • 4:00–5:00 p.m. Tiger  • Reading Fun Attention all Scout Leaders – bring your troop to the Library. Check your calendars and think Library as you plan your activities for the year. Registration ends 2 days before scheduled workshop date. Leader registers group.
	Preschool Story Time Age-specific in small groups, infant - 5 years Session B:  February 27 Individual registration for each session. Programs held in the Helen Gale Story Room.
	Family Story Time Wednesday, February 29 • 7:00–7:45 p.m. Snowflakes & Icicles ~ An evening of stories and more for families with young children. Each month will feature stories on a different theme. Come dressed in your favorite pajamas and bring along your blanket or a stuffed toy.   REGISTER
	You Build with LEGO® Family Friday, March 2  • 1:30–3:30 p.m. Dinosaurs Bring your imagination. We have all you will need to create with LEGO® bricks. Your creation will be displayed in Youth Services until the next event. Children through age 7 must be accompanied by an adult. Students in grades 3–8 may attend without an adult. Parental signature is needed for photos to be posted to Library Facebook page. REGISTER
	Read Across America Day – Dr. Seuss Mania Family Friday, March 2 • 4:00–5:30 p.m. Join in the celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday. There will something for everyone – movies, book trivia, guessing games, the Library wheel, giggles, and many, many Seuss antics. REGISTER
	Book Capers Grades 2 & 3 Thursday, March 8 • 4–4:45 p.m. Adventures of Captain Underpants by Dav Pilkey Read the book and have fun talking about it with other kids.
	Camp Library Grades 2-8 with Parent Friday, March 9 – Saturday, March 10  •  7:30 p.m.–7:30 a.m. Meal Fee: $5 per person due at registration Pack up your sleeping bag and flashlight to discover what can happen in the Library when it closes for the night. The evening will be interactive with relays, hunts, gaming, and a few surprises. Minimum of 20 students with parents registered by March 1 will be necessary to hold event.  REGISTER
