The 60-minute interactive presentation is a trip through history that covers the world events in science, sports, space travel, and history, with a touch of trivia. Community history features travel, schools, churches, disasters, and life styles in St.Charles.

Leader Requirements:

  • A list of Scout names with birth date (month/day/year) no less than 2 weeks before the program so that research may be completed.
  • Each Scout and adult should wear a nametag with name written in dark marker.
  • Please refer to your Scout manual for details of the remaining points needed to complete required work.

What was happening in the world

  • Covers what happened on the day each Scout was born, as well as when he was 5-years old, and what is important about July 20, 1969.

Community History

  • Program includes an overview of how people heated their homes, and where the schools, churches and fire station were located.

Taking it home

  • Handout – Worksheet to complete Requirement 8 A and 8 E.
  • Birth date research packet specific to each Scout.
