Because his mother must work long hours, Rory is usually in charge of his nine-year-old sister, Bridget, who loves to know about many, many, unusual things. She has a tendency to act first, and think later. A magician's trick opens Rory's eyes to Mannahatta, a spirit city that co-exists alongside Manhattan. Only Rory has the power to see Mannahatta. Why? Will he continue to have this power forever, or will he even want to have this special power? Rory goes through mazes, and various obstacle courses, throughout the story. Then, there is Bridget!
