Grey Arthur and Tom Golden are back for another adventure. Arthur has taken an ad in the Daily Tell-Tale calling for students to join his Invisible Friend's school. To Tom's dismay, ghosts start showing up at his door. First comes a faintly real who can't quite make herself be seen, then a particularly cheeky poltergeist, followed by an overly dramatic thesper. To top things off, the fourth ghost to show up is of all things a screamer. Tom finally gets all the ghosts settled, with the screamer in the garden shed away from his parents. Then ghostly friends start to disappear at an alarming rate. Even their own beloved Mrs. Scruffles goes missing. Can Tom and the invisible friends find out what's happening before the whole ghost world is emptied? Read this second book in the Golden and Grey series for a delightfully spooky adventure. The first book in the series is Golden & Grey (An Unremarkable Boy and a rather remarkable Ghost.)

Carlo works for his uncle, in the family shipping business. His uncle considers him worthless, since he spends his days reading, and calls him 'Chuchio,' which means jackass. One day, while wandering through the market, Carlo comes upon a bookseller he has never seen before. In the shop, he finds a book, filled with stories like the Arabian Nights. Even though he cannot pay for it, the bookseller insists that he take the book. That evening, Carlo finds an old map folded up in the jacket, and dreams of finding the treasure. When he can't find the bookseller the next day, he returns to find that, due to a colossal error he has made, his uncle is throwing him out of the house, and the business. He resolves to look for the treasure, and prove to his uncle that he not a 'chuchio.' His adventures will take him to unknown places, and he will meet outlandish characters, before he finds his golden dream.

Daniel adores his uncle and that's why when they go on Daniel's first hunting trip he wants to please him. Instead he finds it hard to take the life of the warm, living rabbit his uncle wants him to shoot. In his confusion and disappointment he makes a mistake that takes his uncle's life and changes his own life forever. Will his friends and classmates forever see him as a killer? Can his father ever forgive him? Can he ever forgive himself? This is a gut wrenching exploration of how an event that lasts only a second can have life long consequences. This is one that you will want to talk about or even read with someone you trust.

Cheery illustrations fill this book about a bad day that turns into a good one. Follow a group of animals as they experience minor misfortunes (a bird loses her favorite feather, a fox can't find his mother) and as their days improve. Simple and beautifully illustrated, this book shows how even a day that starts out poorly can turn into a wonderful day.
