The Gigglers are rat-looking little animals that protect children from mean parents. What is the 'Giggler Treatment' you may ask? Mr. Mack is about to find out. The Mack boys broke the kitchen window that Mr. Mack had just fixed. As you can guess, Mr. Mack was furious and sent the boys to their room without dinner. That's when the Gigglers noticed Mr. Mack being mean to the boys and decided he deserved the TREATMENT. (What they didn't see was Mr. Mack calming down and bringing the boys back down for dinner.) The TREATMENT involves the help of Rover, the dog, and his giant poo. Can the Mack kids, Billie Jean Fleetwood-Mack, Mr. Mack's wife, and Rover save the innocent Mr. Mack from the TREATMENT? This book is hilarious! Roddy Doyle had also written The Meanwhile Adventures and Rover Saves Christmas

One of her teammates 'accidentally' throws a ball at her shin and one day she arrives at her locker to see it covered with a hurtful graffiti message. Molly feels like just going back to the girls' softball team. What would you do if you were Molly?

The Malloy girls and the Hatford boys are in constant competition. One of the Malloy girls tries out for the previously all-male baseball team, and another is competing with one of the boys in the spelling bee. They're all racing to see whose bottle (filled with contact information) will travel the furthest down the river. Will it be the boys or the girls who come out on top this time? Look for other books about the Hatford boys and the Malloy girls (this is the eighth book in the series featuring these characters). The Boys Start the War is book one.
