Commenter: Emily, grade 18
When the principal of the Dry Creek Middle School contacts an eccentric fountain designer to install a new drinking fountain in their school, he is in for a surprise. Soon, fifth-graders are sending letters with suggestions of drinking fountains that spout chocolate milkshakes and ones in which students can swim, and the fountain designer is listening. As the story unfolds in a series of letters, memos, faxes, telegrams, and newspaper articles, it becomes apparent that there's more than a drinking fountain at stake, but the town's whole future. Is something fishy going on underneath the town's dry exterior? Find out in this silly story told with lots of pictures!

Regarding the Fountain has been a book I have loved since 2nd grade. I love how the story is told within letters, memos, postcards etc. Regarding the Fountain is a great read and if you liked this book as much as me, you'd be happy to know that this is only 1 of the many other books in the Regarding the... series. Happy Reading!!!!

Nora is a genius, but no one knows it. She learned very early that people would treat her differently if they knew how smart she was. So she pretends to be an average student, until the fifth grade, when something changes. Suddenly, the kids around her are obsessed with grades, and her best friend, who didn't do well on the standardized tests, has started to believe he's not as good as the kids who did well. Nora hates to see him struggle, so she decides to do something about it. Deliberately earning D grades in most of her subjects (except spelling where she messed up and earned a C), Nora is determined to prove that grades don't mean anything. Will her plan backfire?

In this first entry into the Time Soldiers series, a group of kids discover a portal to a time past, where they encounter all different kinds of dinosaurs, including a Tyrannosaurus Rex looking for a meal! Lush, full-size images, created using a combination of photography and digital manipulation, make the world appear real. In a picture-book format, but suitable for older readers, this is a great book for any student who loves dinosaurs and stories with a lot of action.
