One hundred years ago, two runaway slaves, and abolitionist, Dies Drear, were murdered in his home, an important station on the Underground Railroad. Legend has it that the ghost of Mr. Drear haunts the lonely old house. No one has lived in the house for decades, and everyone in town avoids it. But Thomas Small's dad, a Civil War history professor, doesn't believe in ghosts and legends. He buys the house and moves the family in. Thomas is fascinated by the secret passages, hidden doorways, and his imagination runs wild when odd things begin to happen- noises like someone crying or moaning; cold drafts of air when the windows are closed. What is causing these things? Is someone playing a prank? Are there really ghosts here? Hold on tight - the suspense is riveting. Sequel; The Mystery of Drear House.

Many of the celebrities that we know from history- King Tut, Beethoven, Charles Darwin- had awfully gruesome ends. This fascinating book tells in gruesome detail of the deaths of 19 important figures from the past, not leaving out any of the blood, pus, stabbings, or organ removal. Full of information but never boring, this book will have you riveted. For an extra gross and exciting experience, listen to it on audio!

Joel is looking forward to moving in with his new step family. He'll have two brothers now instead of just his know-it-all, older sister, who thinks their family is just fine the way it is. She calls her new stepbrothers and father 'the intruders.' And she just hates the huge old, house her mother and stepfather have bought to refurbish. Slowly, the family comes to realize this house is never going to seem like a 'home.' One by one, the four children start witnessing strange events, have horrifying nightmares, and sense an evil presence. What is the connection of their family to the family who lived in the house fifty years ago? Is Joel's family in danger? What chances will they take to survive 'The Intruders?'
