Would John Farrington, an 11-year-old boy, be able to help the beautiful Monarch butterflies complete their migration journey safely? After finding that their original 'safe haven' had been turned into a concrete mini-mall, these beautiful creatures turned to John to guide them to a new location. They needed a place to feed, to rest, and to feel safe. In the story, 'The Prince of Butterflies' by Bruce Coville, John became 'one' with the butterflies and led them to a lush green meadow. This experience changed John's life forever. From that day forward, John dedicated his life to the protection of these magnificent insects. He was instrumental in helping to establish 'The Butterfly Road' legislation that protects the Monarch butterflies during their yearly migration. This up-lifting story of courage and dedication shows how one person's vision made a difference and saved the Monarch butterflies from extinction.

This book 'quacks' me up! Told in the language of ducks, and illustrated by a series of fabric collages, Quack the duck goes to the moon. Most of the meaning in this book is expressed using variations of the word 'quack,' and readers will have fun interpreting the different quacks and their meanings. Since Quack 'quacked' his friends, and his friends 'quacked' him, he came back!
