When the children all go back to school, the barnyard animals are bored. They venture into town, and seeing the smiling faces coming from the library building, they decide to take a look. First, the horse clip-clops in and politely asks for something to do, but the librarian doesn't understand what he says. One by one, each animal enters and tries to communicate with the librarian, but she doesn't understand until the hen comes in, saying 'Book! Book!'
