When mother and father elephant are lost at sea, little elephant is left all alone. That is until Old Uncle Elephant, 'who has more wrinkles than there is sand,' comes to take care of him. Lovingly, Old Uncle Elephant fills little elephant's days with trumpeting the dawn, making wishes, trying on all their clothes at once, composing songs, and making up stories. This is a sweet and gentle story of the love between an uncle and a nephew masterly contained in an easy to read beginning chapter book.

Elephant and Piggie are back and in this adventure, they discover they are book characters. Piggie uses this to her advantage. 'I can make the reader say a word!.... If the reader reads out loud' Here I go!... Ahem'..'Banana.' Silliness ensues. What will Elephant and Piggie do when they remember that books end? Another fun story for beginning readers with humor that adults will also appreciate. And as in the others, Pigeon makes an appearance. Reading Level 1.6

What Stinks is a humorous and information packed book explaining why some animals, insects and plants smell the way they do. Is it just to make us hold our noses? No, the smells help the creatures survive in the wild. Have you ever smelled a skunk? Skunks use their smell to chase away predators. Includes great photographs, vocabulary words (throughout the book and in a separate glossary), and a bibliography.
