Once in a Blue Moon

Did you catch sight of the full moon early in December? If not, this is one of the unusual times when a second full moon will be visible during the same month, an occurrence called a Blue Moon. In the Americas, this will fall on December 31st. Of course, this depends on the weather – a snowy, cloudy night will keep us from being able to enjoy the sight – but if it’s clear we’ll have a lovely blue moon lighting up the last night of the 2009.
