How the Afterlife Has Been Depicted in Cinema

Tuesday, April 16   ■   7:00 p.m.   ■   Carnegie Community Room

Why do we like films about the afterlife? Maybe because they reinforce what we truly want to believe in: basic humanity (hence the afterlife comedy), remembrance and reconnection with everyone we love, hope for everlasting life and much more.

Having taught classes in journalism, mass media and film appreciation, Gary Christenson will present a program that will cover many of the themes present in various films that depict the afterlife.

In addition to writing feature articles on media topics for TV Guide,  TV Guide Canada, the Chicago Tribune Magazine and Copley newspapers, Christenson is the author of the book, Fatherhood Is Not Pretty.
