• Expedia - Travel-related information: airfares, destinations, hotels, and maps
• Freetrip - Create your own driving itineraries. Lists lodging, restaurants, and attractions along your route.
• GORP - Great Outdoor Recreation Pages - This is a commercial site, but there is great information on parks, outdoor recreation and gear, and adventure travel destinations.
• MapQuest - Maps, trip planning, and detailed door-to-door driving instructions.
• One Travel - Features FareBeater and White Label (sale fares of major U.S. and international carriers which don't tell you the airline until you've purchased the tickets.)
• Park Net - United States National Park Service site includes National park maps and general information. Lodging and camping reservation details are included.
• Time and date - Find out the current time in any country in the world, view calendars and the duration between two dates. Use the interactive meeting planner tables to see what time and day it is in another country.
• Topozone.com - Topographic maps from the U.S. Geological Survey. Free site, however, for a fee customers may access better quality maps without the ads that print on the free site.
• Tourstates.com - The official site of the National Council of State Tourism Directors. Covers where to stay, what to see, what to do. The Illinois link, for example, takes you to museum sites, sports teams, lodging associations and visitors bureaus, weather, and outdoors sites. Plan a trip, request travel brochures, and find contact information for other state information.
• Travelinformation.com - Travel planning service sends information about more than 100 state, city, and regional destinations throughout the U.S. and Canada. The Internet version of the popular Vacation Planning Service featured annually in the Rand McNally Road Atlas and the AAA Road Atlas.
• Travelocity - Airline, car rental, and lodging information and reservations. Includes a directory of travel attractions.
• Travel Warnings - Travel Warnings are issued when the State Department decides, based on all relevant information, to recommend that Americans avoid travel to a certain country.
• Travlang - Travlang contains pointers to seventeen online translation dictionaries, including Spanish, French, German, Italian, and even Latin, as well as some seventy language training modules that include accompanying RealAudio files so that you can read and listen to a foreign language. The site also includes a currency converter, international traffic rules, calendars, and many links to travel-related information including weather, hotels, airfares, rental cars, etc.
• Trip.com - Airline, rental car, and hotel booking. Try the flightTRACKER to follow a flight in progress, or sign up to be notified by e-mail when a flight lands.
