  • Chicago Public Libraryexternal link - As well as a subject guide to recommended links on the web and in-house published bibliographies and pathfinders, this site has many informational areas. Great site for Chicago history and calendars of Chicago events. (en Españolexternal link)
  • Every Library in Illinoisexternal link - Supplies access to directory and statistical information concerning Illinois libraries collected by the State Library.
  • Internet Public Libraryexternal link - Award-winning site hosted by the School of Information and Library Services at the University of Michigan and staffed by professional librarians which arranges recommended web sites by subject. Also has links to on-line periodicals worldwide.
  • JAKEexternal link (Jointly Administered Knowledge Environment) A very useful search site to find where a particular journal or magazine title is indexed or content is available full text. Produced by Murphy Library, University of Wisconsin, La Crosse.
  • Library of Congressexternal link - Use to search the Library of Congress' catalog as well as other institutions' catalogs. Also great for legislative information, copyright forms, and historical exhibits and events, including some primary sources.
  • Morton Grove Public Library's Webraryexternal link - A web site with an exceptionally strong Reader's Services area with in-house published reading guides as well as links to other reading guides and fiction genre sites.
  • New York Public Libraryexternal link - Of particular interest are their Digital Library Collections, including photography collections and guides to archival and manuscript collections.
  • North Suburban Library System Union List of Periodicalsexternal link - Find where in the neighboring North Suburban Library System to use the specific magazine title you are seeking. From the home page for the NSLS, choose the LIAison Catalog. From the Options page, choose Database Selection, then NorthSuburbanSerials. Click the Apply button.
  • Penfield Public Library, Penfield, NYexternal link - From their home page, scroll down and look for links to collections of web sites for consumers, business, job, business forms and legal information, statistics, and business and economic news articles. They also offer a list of links called Internet for Investors
  • Scout Report Archivesexternal link - Composed of annotated sites from the Scout Reports as well as the scout reports for Science and engineering, Business and Economics, and Social Sciences, the Scout Report Archives offer subject-based access to more than twelve thousand Internet resources. New resources are added on a weekly basis.
  • United Kingdom Public Libraries on the Webexternal link - British counterpart which lists public libraries on the web, with those libraries having particularly worthwhile sites starred. Also has information on private British libraries.
