Download and listen to books on your computer and/or on a compatible MP3 player (sorry, not an iPod*) with digital audiobooks. Below are our eAudiobook
collections:
NetLibrary offers more than 1,500 titles via the Recorded Books company. Books are available to listen to for three weeks on your computer once you download them. You may transfer titles to an MP3 player, but cannot burn them to CD. All of the titles listed are available for immediate download; you do not have to wait for another patron to “return” these titles. To get started, click here .
eMedia Library from OverDrive offers a smaller collection of books, but from a wider variety of publishers. Audio titles from OverDrive are checked out to one patron at a time. You may place holds on titles that are checked out and be notified via email when they become available. In addition to downloading books to your computer and MP3 player, OverDrive allows burning books to CD. You must download the required software to use this collection. To get started, click here .
Check Out a Playaway from the Library. There’s no need to download the audiobook, these devices come with the book already on them, ready to listen. Add the word Playaway to an “Everything” search. To get started, click here.

The Online Books Page – eBooks to read.
LibriVox – eAudiobooks to listen to.
General Tips and FAQs
*iPods – Because of digital licensing and hardware issues, Apple has chosen not to work with any libraries or library vendors. We regret not being able to provide content to iPod users, and if in the future we can legally provide such access, we will happily consider doing so. See LibriVox for some free iPod-compatible content.
NetLibrary requires registration to be done in the Library. Once you’ve registered here, you may access your account and download books and audiobooks from other locations.
If you want to listen to NetLibrary books on your MP3 player, be sure to download the CD Quality file to your computer. These large downloads can take quite a bit of time. If you’re listening only on your computer, you may prefer to use the faster Radio Quality download.
To find digital content in the Library catalog, add the phrase and electronic resource to the end of an “Everything” search. Results will include both digital audiobooks for listening and digital books for reading.
