If you enjoy listening to books, the Library has a variety of collections for you to explore.

Audiobooks on CD and Cassette – Adult Collection

• The Library has a large selection of both fiction and nonfiction titles to choose from.  Many audiobooks may be borrowed from other libraries, too.
• The Adult audiobook collection is located on the main level of the Library. All of these items have the words “Audio Book” at the beginning of the call number.  CDs and cassettes are shelved together.
• New audiobooks are located at the beginning of the audiobook collection.
• Some materials, such as plays, language instruction, and lectures are on the shelves with books about the same subject.  In the catalog, these will have a call number without the word “Audio Book” at the beginning.

Audiobooks on CD and Cassette – Teen Collection

• Fiction titles chosen especially for High School students are located in The Loft on the mezzanine near the Graphic Novels.

Audiobooks on CD and Cassette – Youth Services Collection

• Both fiction and nonfiction audiobooks are located together on shelves near the back wall in Youth Services.
• Fiction call numbers begin with either J AUDIO BOOK or JH AUDIO BOOK. Nonfiction call numbers begin with J AUDIO BOOK.
• CDs and cassettes are shelved together.

Audiolibros on CD and Cassette – Spanish Collection

• Both fiction and nonfiction audiobooks are located on the main level with the Spanish collection.  Todos los audiolibros de ficción y no ficción y se encuentran en el piso principal con los materiales en Español.

Digital Audiobooks - 2 different options

• Download and listen to a variety of fiction and nonfiction books on your computer and/or on a compatible MP3 player.  To get started, click here.

• Check Out a Playaway from the Library. These MP3 devices come with the book already on them, ready to listen, just supply your own headphones and batteries. These are located on the Library’s main level, and in Youth Services on the lower level, with the Audiobook collections.
  Tip: To search for these in the catalog, add the word “Playaway” to an Everything search.

Since audiobooks are shelved in various locations throughout the Library, please feel free to ask for assistance at the Reader Services or Information Services Desks (Main Level) or at the ASK ME Desk (Youth Services).
