Going on Vacation? Suspend Your Holds

Suspend your holds while on vacation.You can temporarily suspend your holds if you are going to be on vacation or otherwise unable to make use of the items you have on hold. When you suspend a hold it is suspended until a specific date, then it becomes active again. While your holds are suspended, they will continue to move to the top of the line, but they will not be filled until you activate them again or until the "Suspend until" date is reached. Click on "My Account", then "Review Account" and look for the "Suspend Holds" button.

Calling all artists!

Poster Contest for Middle & High School Students

Enter your poster illustrating the theme “Scare Up a Good Book.” The statewide winner will receive $1,000 and his/her artwork will be featured in the 2010 iREAD summer reading program for young adults sponsored by the Illinois Library Association.
Details and entry forms available at the ASK ME Desk in Youth Services and at the Readers Services Desk in Adult Services. Deadline for entries is July 31.

A New Way to Pay Your Fines and Fees

What is E-Pay?


E-PayThe St. Charles Public Library has partnered with the Illinois E-Pay Program to provide you with a secure, convenient, and easy way to make online payments of fines and fees.


You may pay with a Visa, MasterCard or Discover card.


How Do I Make an Online Payment?


Follow these simple steps:



  1. To check your balance and pay bills, login to My Account.

  2. Choose to pay a single bill by clicking on the Pay Bill Now button, or pay all of your bills by clicking Pay All Bills.

  3. Complete the online form with all of the requested information.


You will receive a confirmation number by e-mail once your transaction is complete.
