Perfect for blustery days, here's a nice crop of mysteries that members of the Library staff have enjoyed over the years!
The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax by Dorothy Gilman
Widowed and bored with the grandmotherly life she's “expected” to live, Mrs. Pollifax impulsively offers to work for the CIA. Through a mix-up she is given a simple assignment as a courier in Mexico, but she is captured and taken to Albania where her captors and co-prisoners can't figure out if she's a spy or not. First published in 1966, the cold-war villains are a little dated, but the charming, intelligent characters plus the humor and adventure packed into this fast-paced story will make you want to continue reading the entire series!

A Fatal Vineyard Season by Philip Craig
Craig’s books make you want to pack up and head for Martha’s Vineyard in spite of the occasional murder or two that upsets the routine of ex-big city cop J.W. Jackson. An enjoyable series.
An Unsuitable Job for a Woman by P. D. James
First published in 1972, this novel introduces private detective Cordelia Gray. As the novel opens, Cordelia's partner and mentor Bernie Pryde has committed suicide, leaving all his belongings and the private detective agency to Cordelia. Her first case takes her in search of the real story behind another suicide, that of Mark Callender.
A young Cambridge student, Mark, left school to become a humble and underpaid gardener in the English countryside. Cordelia's investigations turn up some surprises for her and the reader in this suspenseful and satisfying mystery. It is traditional British cozy and would appeal to readers who enjoy Agatha Christie.

Cozy by Parnell Hall
New York detective Stanley Hastings finds himself a reluctant vacationer at a New Hampshire bed-and-breakfast. When two of the other guests are murdered, Hastings and his wife Alice are drawn into the investigation.
Bloodroot by Susan Wittig Albert
Set on a Mississippi plantation, Bloodroot is a vivid, haunting novel brimming with dangerous family secrets. It features lawyer-turned-herbalist China Bayles.
An Isolated Incident by Susan Sloan

This is an incredible story of murder on a small island in the Pacific Northwest. The characters are wonderful. The end is a shocker.
