  • Prizes will be Best Buy gift cards. Winners will receive a $30 card for first place, $20 card for second place, and $10 card for third place.
  • There will be two DDR games set up. One is an XBOX game and mats, the other a Wii game with wireless mats.
  • Tournament sign-in will be open from approximately 1:15-1:30 PM. During this time, open play will be available. Walk-in registrants will not be accepted, unless pre-registrants and waitlisters have not arrived by 1:25 PM.
  • No registration after 1:25 PM. We will begin the tournament once all contestants are signed in.
  • When you arrive at the tournament, you must check in with the tournament organizers. Choose a difficulty level. You may choose to play with a nickname as well. Be sure that it is memorable so that you know who you are when called to play.
  • You will have 2 minutes to respond when called to play. If you do not arrive within the 2 minutes, you will forfeit your match (you'll receive zero points for that match).
  • Trash talking is allowed, but no swearing or bad behavior.

Tournament Rules

·         Contestants may sign up in pairs.  Contestants who do not request partners will be assigned a partner at the same ability level.

·         Each pair will be called to compete for two qualifying rounds. Rounds will be played at the XBOX console one time and the Wii the other. Player one will choose the first song, player two the second. Difficulty level must be agreed upon.

·         During qualifying rounds, contestants will earn points based on how many Perfect scores they attain. At the end of the qualifying rounds, contestants with the top 8 scores will advance to the elimination rounds.

·         If multiple contestants are tied at the end of the qualification rounds, a tiebreaker match will be held. Tiebreaker matches will follow the same rules as the qualifying round matches.

·         Final rounds will be two contestants versus each other, seeded single bracket elimination. Seeding will be based on qualifying round scores. All final rounds will be conducted at the Wii console. Difficulty level will be determined by the score keeper. Songs will be chosen by contestants.

·         The scorekeeper will determine when a match begins.

·         When a match is ended, contestants must leave the score screen up for the scorekeeper to record the results. Passing this screen will invalidate the match and all contestants forfeit.

·         Tournament organizers have the final say in all decisions.

The DDR Tournament will be held on Tuesday, March 30 at 1:30 PM as part of our Spring Break Gaming Day. Registration will be open through noon on Monday, March 29.
