Matt Logan

February 2008 Artist of the Month

Artist’s Statement
“I make art because I have to. Much like alcohol or drugs, it starts out fun and whimsical but the more it is done, the more it starts to take over. It has taken over. If you are looking here for answers to questions posed by my work, you won’t find them. There are no easy answers in life and not surprisingly, in art as well. Ask ten different people about a piece of art and you will get ten different reactions. That is the beauty of my work. It doesn’t give you any answers. Instead it forces you to come up with your own. Make up your own mind. There are far too many people trying to make it up for you.”

Education:
Having no formal training in art, life and introspection provide the best education in regards to making art.
