Kathy Mamla - Santelli

April Artist of the Month

Late at night, inspired by music and her passion for flowers, Kathy paints her photographed subjects. She uses her fingers to smear the pastel crayons producing intimate portraits of flowers, still lifes, and landscapes. Kathy first discovered her love for art and flowers as a child in a little town of Poland.

During her early school years, Kathy began to receive awards for creative excellence in art and continued to pursue her passion for painting and drawing throughout her childhood. As a teenager, Kathy relocated to the United States where her natural artistic talents were able to mature as she pursued a degree in Advertising Art and Computer Design. After graduation, she began her professional artistic journey as a Graphic Designer.

Currently she's running a successful freelance design business. Kathy's paintings have been featured in Decor Magazine, local art galleries, and numerous art shows.

Kathy resides in West Chicago, IL with her husband and newborn son.
