Biography
I was born in Chicago, July 18,1961, the youngest of five children. Drawing was my first voice and vocabulary.
I graduated from Lane Tech H.S. in Chicago with a major in Commercial Art, and I continued my, fine arts education at H.S Truman College. Recently I’ve refined my skills at Tony & Friends Art Studio in St. Charles.
My husband, three teenage children, a Ginger Tabby and a Sheltie are constants in my life as well as unwitting reference models.
1 enjoy freelance work; my illustrations have been published in OnCourse Magazine and Bobbi’s Pot of Gold newsletter.
Over the years, I’ve held memberships in the DuPage Art League, the Fox Valley Arts Council, and the Transparent (formerly, Midwest) Watercolor Society.
Artist’s Statement
I’ve been a painter of words since childhood; a storyteller. Media has almost always been nearby, to capture life as it happens. I subscribe to the theory that art and life are intertwined; each reflects and complements the other.
I enjoy painting landscapes, (conventional and fanciful) animals & people, History and weathered architecture/artifacts. Usually there is a story connected to my paintings. In the case of Help, it was the only way to release a memory! However, I do not limit myself to watercolors, and drawing will always be my first voice, my ice-breaker and my diary.
