More than just a diet, vegetarianism is a lifestyle and a philosophy. Whether you want to learn more about vegetarianism, are looking for a new vegan recipe, or want more information about animal rights and saving the planet, here is a place for you to start.
DEFINITION:
Generally speaking, a vegetarian is one who does not eat animal or other products that result from the slaughter of living beings. Vegetarians, then, would not eat cut meats of any kind or fish, shellfish, or crustacea. Some vegetarians, however, do eat dairy products and/or eggs.
For more information on vegetarianism and the various types, see The Vegetarian Society Information Sheet at www.vegsoc.org/info/definitions.html
